What does it mean to be a woman?
Listen to my roar!
Woman. The least respected. Underappreciated. Mothers, Wives, Daughters and Nieces that are all too often seen as trophies, second-class citizens and mere dime pieces. We’ve allowed ourselves to be defined by patriarchal views from those whose agenda is to control and abuse, not create balance.
Why has that viewpoint maintained over time? Because, in part, we have accepted a definition of ourselves that is not aligned with that of our Creator. The result: we are not treated as what we were created to be. God made women from a rib of a man, one body, different functions. Not less than man but as man’s partner. We were not created to be abused, lied to or cheated on. We were BOTH made in the image and likeness of God. We are fearfully and wonderfully made. God took His time when He created woman. We are the apple of God’s eye. We are more precious than jewels. We birth nations! We are the givers of life. We raise and nurture young boys who will become men. We define multi tasking. We work, bear children, go to school, maintain home and meet our man’s sexual needs. WE WILL NO LONGER BE CONTROLLED BY OUTDATED IDEAOLOGIES. We demand to be treated as an equal. We will no longer walk behind a man; we will walk side by side. We are Queens. We are to be loved and protected. We are loyal when we are treated right. We will stand beside the man we love.
Never apologize for being made a woman. God sees so much power and purpose in you. I am damaged, yet I know that I will become what I was born to be. It is time to teach our young girls to love the skin they’re in and never compromise what they are to please others. The most effective way to do that is by example. We are to love ourselves more in order to be able to live successfully in this world. It is time for our voices to be heard. It is time to redefine WOMAN. Once we have rewritten the definition, men will have NO choice but to recognize the gift they have earned!
It is time to take your rightful place on your throne and wear your crown. Look in the mirror and say to yourself, “I’ve made it!” despite all the hurt, pain and scars. The time is NOW to rise and shine and be authentically you. You are resourceful, intelligent, wise, strong and worthy. Love yourself, be yourself and shine because you are a diamond!
How will you define your type of womanhood? Let me know. The world is waiting to hear from you!
Your crown has been bought and paid for. Put it on your head and wear it. – Maya Angelou
