My Biggest Storm. Excerpt from the upcoming book 911.
Storms are going to come. Storms are a natural part of life. One is never prepared for a storm. I wasn’t prepared for the biggest storm I ever faced. It was losing my mother and grandmother two weeks apart. I was so mad at God. I fell into a deep dark depression. I call it my Joseph Pit Experience. Often times we are afraid to go through the storm. I want to tell you that the storms in life are not for you. Yes, I said it. The storms are for the ones that you are called to save.
No matter what storm(s) that you may encounter; illness, job, finances, relationships, children and a loss of a loved one. It could be that you are going through changes within yourself, trying to figure out who you really are. God allows storms to help us grow and get to our greatest self.
When the storms come. I want you to meditate and always remember that God is listening and ready to move on your behalf. So, when the storms of life come along, don’t be afraid to call on the name of Jesus. God will never leave you or forsake you! Deuteronomy 31:8 ESV
“God I can’t do this. I feel like giving up. I need you. Help me get through this storm. Please show me how to get back up and be able to walk and feel good about myself. God will you help me? “
I am here to tell you He will. He will carry you and make you see the good in yourself and the good in Him. When I went through my storm, I didn’t know who I was anymore. I finally saw the real me. I mean the real authentic me. I saw that I was a people pleaser and I lived my life for others. This storm taught me that it was time to be the woman I was created to be.
If it wasn’t for this storm, I wouldn’t be here today. I am better. I am stronger. I am me! The more storms you go through, it matures you.
Storms happen for a reason. To teach us a lesson, to get us to move from one place to another. Sometimes we hear God speaking and then we ignore Him. Then God says; “you know what? I tried to get your attention and you didn’t hear me.” Then He gets our attention, when we encounter a storm.
Every storm we face there is an answer. We can find our answers by praying, listening and reading the word of God.
